Course Overview:

The Level 3 Diploma Health and Social Care has been created to develop and reward the health and social care workers of today and the future, and to continue to bring recognition and professionalism to the health and social care sector.

This qualification provides a generic core of mandatory units that apply to all health and social care contexts; and allows learners to select specialisms in the optional units.

Entry Requirement:

Learners will be expected to hold a Level 2 qualification and/or work experience in the health and social care sector and demonstrate ambition with clear career goals. Or a Level 3 qualification in another discipline.

Equivalences:

Our qualifications at RQF Level 3 represent practical knowledge, skills, capabilities, and competences that are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to A-level certificate.

Modules:

  • Social Care Worker (10 credits).

  • Personal Assistant (10 credits).

  • Health Care Assistant (10 credits).

  • Community Development (10 credits).

  • Health administration (10 credits).

  • Charity Officer (10 credits).

  • Nursing (10 credits).

Assessment & verification:

All units within this qualification are internally assessed by the centre and externally verified. The qualifications are criterion-referenced, based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria. The judgement that the learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria is made by the Assessor.The Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the judgement of the learners’ overall achievement has been arrived at.

Progression:

Upon completing this Level 3 diploma, learners can progress to the Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or the first year of undergraduate study in health and social care.

Learners can also step directly into employment in an associated profession.
